OSHA 10 Hour:
This class will provide the student with the basics of the Occupational Safety and Health Act, (OSHA) in construction standard, (29CFR1926.62). The class has two component groups. The first covers individual standards in the Act, which are mandatory to teach. The second group of components are elective sections of the standard. The Department of Labor OSHA Office on Training recognizes this course and issues identification cards Safety Controls Technology’s office for each student completing this training class. (Total class seating time 10 hours).

OSHA 16-Hour:
This is the sister course to the OSHA PASSPORT training class. In addition to the basic OSHA 10-hour class, a focused presentation on one or more of the OSHA standards will normally accompany this class. For example you may register for an OSHA 16-hour class and Scaffolding Erector Dismantler Certification. By doing this you get the benefit of two certifications. Regardless of emphasis program you choose, this class will provide you with the basics of the OSHA in construction standard. The Department of Labor OSHA Office on Training recognizes this course and issues identification cards through Safety Controls Technology’s office for each student completing this training class. (Total Class seating time 16 hours).

Fall Protection Competent Person:
This 16-hour course is designed to prepare students to be considered a competent person in fall protection in accordance with 29CFR1926, Subpart M. Students will learn the nature of falls hazards, requirements under subpart M, the use, operations, and limitations of fall protection devises, proper identification and application of approved fall protection systems. (Total class seating time 16 hours).

Scaffolding Erector/Dismantler:
This course meets with the new scaffolding requirement (Subpart L), which mandates that any person working on installation or dismantling of scaffolding must have taken a recognized erector/dismantler class. The IUPAT course taught is recognized by the Department of Labor and is taught in conjunction with the OSHA 16-hour program. (As a stand-alone class, total class seating time requirement is 10 hours).

Scaffolding Competent Person:
This is 32-hour course builds off the Scaffolding Worker/Erector/Dismantler class. It meets with SHA’s minimum requirements for training of a competent person. A graduate of this class is qualified to supervise the assembly and dismantling of scaffolding. (Total Class seating time 32 hours).

Respiratory Protection:
This is a 4-hour course, which meets with OSHA’s minimum requirements under the new respirator standard 29CFR1910.134. Students will learn why and when respirator protection is needed and required, how improper fit, usage, and or maintenance can effect the efficiency of the respirator, limitations of use, inspection of a respirator prior to use, the requirements of the standard and proper maintenance of respirators. (Total Class seating time is 4 hours).

Lead Worker:
This course covers the Lead in Construction Standard, 29CFR1926.62. It is recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, for meeting their minimum requirements for Lead Abatement Work. This course is also State Certified by the Ohio Department of Health. Each student, upon successful completion will be certified to sit for the State Licensing exam. Only state licensed Lead Abatement Workers are permitted to engage in work on Lead Abatement or control projects in health facilities, day care facilities and residential structures. (Total class seating time is 32 hours).

Lead Worker Refresher:
This class is only open to those members who have taken a 32-hour Lead Worker Certification course. This course is required for all those who have taken the certification program within one year of receiving the certification. This course is taught with the OSHA 16-hour class or as a stand-alone class. It is recognized by the Ohio Department of Health and U.S.E.P.A. (As a stand-alone class, total seating time is 8 hours).

Lead Supervisor:
This course covers the Lead in Construction Standard, 29CFR1926.62. It is recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, for meeting their minimum requirement for Lead Abatement Supervisor/Competent Person/Contractor. This course is also State Certified by the Ohio Department of Health. The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) also recognizes it for meeting C-3 requirements. Each student, upon successful completion will be certified to sit for the Ohio State licensing exam. Only state licensed Lead Abatement Supervisor/Competent Person/Contractor are permitted to contract work on Lead Abatement or control projects in health facilities, day care facilities and residential structures. (Total class seating time is 40 hours).

Lead Supervisor Refresher:
This class is only open to those members who have taken a 40-hour LeadSupervisor/Competent Person/Contractor Certification course. This course is required for all those who have taken the certification program within one year of receiving the certification. This course is only taught as a stand-alone class. It is recognized by the Ohio Department of Health, SSPC for C-5 requirements and U.S.E.P.A. (As a stand-alone class, total seating time is 16 hours).

Hazard Communications:
This course is taught with the OSHA 16-hour program and emphasizes the identification of potentially hazardous materials which employees are exposed. It can also be taught in conjunction with the Respirator Training Course. In either class situation the course functions more productively as a contractor-sponsored class, where each individual contractors HazardCommunication Program and Respirator program is emphasized. (Total class seating time 4 hours).

First Aid/CPR/AED:
This comprehensive certification course is designed to teach you how to identify ways to prevent injury and/or illness, recognize when an emergency occurs, follow three emergency action steps in any emergency, and provide basic care for injury and/or sudden illness until the victim can receive professional medical help. The class is offered in two ways. The first covers basic First Aid/CPR/AED, (Total class seating time 8 hours). The second covers community First Aid/CPR/AED, (Total class seating time 8 hours).

Confined Space Competent Person: This sixteen-hour course meets with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Permit-Required Confined Space Standard 29CFR1910.146. The major objective of this course is to teach the fundamental components of confined space entry and rescue. Total class seating time 16 hours.

ATSSA Flagger Training:
This four-hour course teaches the basic requirements under the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, (MUTCD) of the American Traffic Safety Services Association, (ATSSA). Students will learn the flaggers role in protecting workers, motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists and children, equipment, facilities and the flagger during construction activities. Total class seated time 4 hours.
